GIA is going digital

Posted by Andrea Bonelli on

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is taking their grading reports digital. They plan on phasing out old paper reports by 2025 and many Diamond suppliers have already shifted to only supplying online digital copies to those buying diamonds in the trade.

What this means going forward is that all rings containing GIA Diamonds purchased from my store will have a link for online access to the report that matches the laser inscription of your diamond. You'll never have to worry about misplacing it since you can print multiple copies at home for your records and insurance.

You can also download the GIA app onto your phone to store your certificate there as well as having access to videos, and interactive tools.

Their move to digital will save 20 tons of paper and 18.5 tons of plastic each year and reduce transportation-related carbon emissions.
